As of June 15, 2025, updated minimum wage rates came into effect in nine industries in Norway where generally applicable minimum wages apply. We summarize the key changes in construction, electrical work, agriculture, transport, cleaning, hospitality, fish processing, shipyards, and passenger transport. Check if your employees are paid in accordance with the new requirements.
Construction sector
• Skilled workers: NOK 264.32 (previously NOK 250.30)
• Unskilled workers without experience: NOK 239.61 (previously NOK 226.90)
• Unskilled workers with at least 1 year of experience: NOK 249.00 (previously NOK 235.80)
• Workers under 18 years: NOK 162.44 (previously NOK 153.83)
Electrical sector
- Skilled workers: NOK 270.45 (previously NOK 257.79)
- Other employees: NOK 241.77 (previously NOK 229.11)
Fish processing industry
- Skilled workers: NOK 240.96 (previously NOK 231.15)
- Production workers: NOK 225.96 (previously NOK 216.15)
Road freight transport
- Employees driving vehicles over 2.5 tons: NOK 229.00 (previously NOK 222.00)
Important: From June 15, 2025, the wage rule applies to vehicles over 2.5 tons (previously only above 3.5 tons).
Agriculture and horticulture
Seasonal workers:
• Under 18 years: NOK 142.90 (previously NOK 135.90)
• 18+ years (0–12 weeks): NOK 162.90
• 18+ years (12 weeks–6 months): NOK 168.40
Permanent employees:
• Unskilled workers: NOK 182.80 (previously NOK 175.80)
• Under 18 years: NOK 152.40 (previously NOK 145.40)
• Skilled worker supplement: NOK 14.50
Accommodation, food service, and catering
- Up to 17 years: NOK 142.58
- 17 years: NOK 152.08
- 18 years: NOK 166.34
- 20+ years / 18+ with 4 months’ experience: NOK 204.79 (previously NOK 197.79)
Cleaning services
- Over 18 years: NOK 236.54 (previously NOK 227.54)
- Under 18 years: NOK 185.55 (previously NOK 176.55)
Evening/night work (21:00–06:00): minimum +NOK 29 per hour.
Shipbuilding and shipyard iundustry
For production, assembly, and installation work:
- Skilled worker: NOK 216.79 (previously NOK 211.79)
- Specialized worker: NOK 207.14 (previously NOK 202.14)
- Helper: NOK 197.61 (previously NOK 192.61)
Passenger transport by coach
- Employees in companies providing passenger transport by coach or tour bus: NOK 218.62 (previously NOK 213.62)
